Behind the lens

Shooting is where my heart is. Be it in the field (or dirt as it usually pans out) or in studio, capturing moments in time for later reflection is a life long passion.

From my first camera to the random assortment of film and digital bodies I work with today, I love the process as much as the finished product. While I trained in film and processing, the digital age and it’s workflow is just as creative, if not moreso. The goal always to capture the image you want in-camera. That said, visualising a finished piece knowing the equipments strengths, limitations and the digital processes at every level opens up a whole new world. Hence I’ve become fluent in Photoshop, Aperture and colour management for all kinds of printing.

I’ve split my work into two areas, photography and photo journalism, where I’ve written alongside the images. Hope you enjoy.
